Dentistry at Advanced Medical

The SOAHAC Dental Clinic provides dental care to First Nations, Métis, and Inuit (FNMI) adults and children who are covered for services under Non-Insured Health Benefits, Ontario Works, or ODSP. We also provide services to Indigenous (FNMI) children and youth from 0-17 years old who are covered under Non-Insured Health Benefits, Healthy Smiles Ontario, or Children’s Aid Society. If you are eligible through one of these, you do not have to pay up front for services. If you are not sure if you or your family has coverage, please call us for assistance.

Dr. Alisha Patel,
D.D.S

Dr. Patel recently joined Dentistry at Advanced Medical Group. She believes in a patient-centered approach to dentistry. “I love building a relationship with my patients personally, as well as working with them to improve their oral health and giving them a lovely smile.”

Dr. Patel graduated from the University of Toronto where she received her Honours Bachelors of Science Degree. She then attended dental school at University at Buffalo to receive her Doctorate in Dental Surgery. Following dental school, she completed a General Practice Residency at the Veterans Hospital in Detroit, Michigan giving her expertise in working with medically complex and geriatric patient population.

She prides herself on keeping up to date with the latest technological advances within the dental industry. Her areas of focus include Preventative Dentistry, Restorations, Crowns, Fixed/ Removable Dentures, Implant Restorations, Root Canals, Extractions and more.

Dr. Patel is eligible to practice in 48 states and all provinces in Canada. She is a member of Royal College of Dental Surgeons of Ontario, Ontario Dental Association, Canadian Dental Association, American Dental Association, Michigan Dental Association and the American Academy of General Dentistry.

In her free time, Dr. Patel is a passionate traveler who strives for thrill and adventure! She loves the outdoors and enjoys activities like hiking and skiing. When at home, she loves baking and cooking and creating new recipes, trying different cuisines, and spending time with her family and friends.

Matt McCallum,
DD – Denturist

Matt graduated from the denturism program at George Brown College in Toronto in 2008. Shortly after receiving his diploma he moved back to his hometown of London to begin his career as a denturist.

Matt has worked at several offices in the London area before opening McCallum Denture Clinic and now divides his time between his clinic, and Advanced Dental Centre.

In his free time, he enjoys watching and playing many sports and grew up playing baseball, hockey, lacrosse, and snowboarding. Matt looks forward to providing all your removable prosthetic needs from complete dentures, partial dentures, to implant supported dentures.

Heather Tinney,
CDA II – Office Manager

Heather obtained her Dental Assistant Certi cation from Durham College in 1990. She attended Holland College in P.E.I. one year later to obtain her Level II certification.

Heather has a diverse background in dentistry having worked in oral surgery, pedodontics, orthodontics, general dentistry, periodontics and as an IODA instructor. Heather has extensive training in ASD (autism spectrum disorder) and even had the pleasure of working in assisted living residences providing care to dementia and Alzheimer residents. In her spare time, Heather likes to spend time with family and her two dogs.
